Walking a very thin line (BL)

Many students were huddled around the main notice board as they talked among themselves.

”Whats this? A new course? ”

”Whos gonna take that? ” A tall guy said, ”Sure, it can get us points, but don we have enough on our plates already? ”

”Hey! Look at that! Anyone can take it up! Hoho, I guess there are going to be some pretty junior girls there? ”

A girl came running and paused for a moment to catch her breath. She panted, ”Hah…Hey!…Listen….S-senior August…signed…up…for this- ” Bending down, she caught her breath as the previously uninterested crowd suddenly went wild.

”What, senior August?! Im totally up for this! ”

”Take me right now!!! Im afraid the seats will run out soon! ” A short haired girl cried as she snatched an application form from the rapidly thinning pile, ”I mean, who in their right mind will want to miss out the chance to observe that sculpture made by god himself! ”

”Im dying from a nosebleed only by imagining this! Seeing the male god everyday in the morning, God, how can you be so merciful! ”

Kaitlyn and her group were also there. Since they knew their leader didn like August, they tried hard to conceal their own excitement as they secretly whispered amongst themselves.

”Hey…Hush, should I apply too? ”

”Yeah…Of course! ” With a low voice, the other girl whispered back.

Kaitlyn seemed to have heard something as she turned around and glared at the forms in their hands. They quieted down at once, but the wide smiles on their faces still gave it away.

Kaitlyn saw Edward coming down the hallway and her down face lightened up at once. She called, ”Edward! You
e here! Oh, did you see the notice? Theres a new course. Boring, right? ”

”I honestly can see why people are even applying for it? I mean, sure, the so-called university idol is there, but is he everything? Ugh, its so annoying to see girls notice someone only because of their face! ”

Edward felt like laughing at this foolish girl. He hated this type of people the most. They pretended to hate people for being selfish and approaching them with motives, but in reality, they
e even worse than them. Say, would she have noticed him if not for his face?

Resisting the urge to sneer at her, he flashed a fake smile. He still needed this dumb girl for some background information after all.

”Oh, is that so? I was thinking about signing up for this though. The topic looks quite interesting, right? ”

Kaitlyn was speechless for a moment in front of his handsome smile. After recovering, she hurriedly agreed, ”Uh, yeah. Yeah! Thats what I was saying! ”

Coughing indignantly, she continued, ”Huh, even if August is attending, it doesn mean we can ! There should be people other than his fans who actually want to learn in a class, right! ”

Seeing their chance, her followers agreed almost instantly, ”Yes, yes! Miss Kaitlyn is right! We should join it! ”

”Totally, totally! ”

Edward didn bother with them anymore and clicked his tongue lightly before going over to fill the form.

Kaitlyn wondered if she saw wrong for a second. Yes, that must be it. After all, why would her male god look at her with such a disdain filled gaze? It mustve been her illusion.

”August, you
e such a good child. Are you sure you want to join this class? I mean, you have enough to deal with already. Overworking like this will surely take a toll on your health, right? ” The professor asked worriedly.

The youth standing before him stood with a perfect posture and proper clothes, his manner sincere and polite. He was the perfect child every professor adored. Manners, brains, discipline, he had them all. But him being so perfect also made them worry about this child quite a few times. After all, hes only 20 years old. He would rather prefer if he were to miss a class or get in trouble a few times. At least then, hed look more like other people his age.

Smiling politely, August replied, ”I thank professor for his concern. I think Ill be able to manage it. After all, one can never know too much. Who knows when this information might be useful? So, please, I request that you let me attend this class. ”

His tone was very formal, completely unlike university students. He spoke politely, but firmly. Even though his speech sounded soft and polite, it also left no room for arguments.

Sighing, he admitted defeat but still advised, ”Ok, if you insist so much, you may attend. But let me know without hesitation if it gets too much, alright? Don suffer by yourself. ”

August nodded, ”Thank you for your concern. ”

The older man waved his hands in disappointment, dismissing him. ”Okay, okay. Hurry along now. Its almost time for lunch. ”

August nodded again and bowed respectfully before going out. ”Then Ill be on my way, professor. ”

He exhaled slowly, relieved that the conversation went as he wanted. To be honest, he was quite worried that Mr. Eckhart would stop him from taking any more classes. Thank god it all worked out.

Even though he was so bold earlier, in reality, he was quite afraid of his denial. He just wanted to keep himself occupied, so buried in work that he won think about that anymore. He was using work as an escape from the memories haunting him.

August smiled mockingly as he remembered his firm tone and words earlier. Even he sometimes felt like laughing whenever he noticed his own duality, acting so brave when hes just a nervous anxiety ridden trash inside.

Thats just the way people like August are. They put on a bold front and pretend like they
e cold and aloof, but are quite nervous inside. Even if hes dying inside, the only thing thatll ever grace his face is a smile like its alright. He was the sort of person whod rather die than trouble others with his problems.
