About two hours later, just as dusk had settled, Avril was lying on the sofa, her head resting on Xia Fei’s thighs as if they were pillows while he drank a cup of tea, telling Avril some interesting and fun stories.

Furball opened his eyes in a panic, then used his pair of cute and innocent looking eyes to stare at Xia Fei and Avril.

Xia Fei, why did you hit him?”

Avril picked up Furball and took the beast into her bosom, her delicate fingers lightly stroking where Xia Fei had struck Furball.

“This pet of mine is very crafty.
Avril, don’t get fooled by his seemingly innocent looks.”

Avril pouted.
“Don’t you say that.
Poor little guy… Does Xia Fei often bully you?”

Furball nodded his head repeatedly, extending his tongue to lick Avril’s fingers.
It was ticklish and caused Avril to giggle as the beast licked fervently.

Xia Fei was speechless.
Avril actually pitied the Shatterstar beast.
This meant that there was practically no beast out there that was not pitiful.

“What’s his name?”

“Furball.”

“Furball? What an adorable name.
Furball, are you hungry? Would you like some snacks?”

Furball was of course not at all interested in sweet snacks, but Avril did not relent, stuffing a mouthful of snowpine cake into jos mouth.

Furball’s mouth was soon stuffed full of cake, and he reluctantly swallowed it, frowning greatly as he looked to Xia Fei with pleading eyes.

Xia Fei cackled in his heart as he spoke to Furball through their conscious link.
‘Now, you know how wonderful your master is, yeah? I’m warning you: Don’t ever make Avril unhappy, or else I’ll be sure to let you have some delicious fruits to eat.”

Furball wanted to cry, though no tears came out.
He forcefully swallowed that mouthful of cake, his eyes almost turning blue from the disgust.

Unfortunately, Avril did not plan to stop any time soon, and she placed a plate full of pearl pineapple tarts in front of Furball.

“Furball, these tarts are delicious.”

“What’s this? You don’t want to eat?” Avril thrust her hips sideways.
“Look at how tiny you are; I’m sure you are usually too picky with your food.
There’s no way for you to grow big and strong if you don’t eat more.”

On one hand was Xia Fei’s stern order, on another was Avril’s diligent concern.
Furball was utterly helpless, smashing his head onto the sofa as tears brimmed around his eyes, as if saying, ‘Oh, heavens! Just who did I offend to have deserved such torture?”

Avril accompanied Xia Fei as the two socialized in the garden.
She mentioned her desire to rest because she felt tired some time after, so Xia Fei walked her back to her room.

Everyone naturally knew about the deep relationship Xia Fei and Avril shared, and that after having been apart from each other for so long, it was precisely the time when they needed privacy.

Avril got up and took out a bottle of gin from her wine cabinet.
That somewhat translucent pajamas of hers did not leave much to the imagination, especially her slender and long white thighs, which any full-blooded male would salivate over.

She poured a glass for Xia Fei and a glass of milk for herself.

Handing the gin to Xia Fei, Avril somewhat nervously and a little guilty said, “I’m not feeling sleepy yet.
