Zeke looked at the magical formation drawn on the ground, the ink used was already dried and it had a stench. By the murky red colour, it must had been drawn by blood.

The circular formation still emitted a soft red glow and looked more like a cursed drawing with the demonic patterns it had.

”This is… Demonic Arts? An extremely high level one! Just who is this guy? ”

Zeke closed his eyes as he accepted his new memories bit by bit.

”The **!? Im a human!? Then.. how does he know demonic arts? ” Zeke screamed in disgust.

He then analyzed the magical formation and by the clumsy looking patterns drawn, he assumed that this kid probably found this technique somewhere and tried his best to copy it. It was definitely not the work of an expert.

From what he recalled from his past life, this technique was used to summon an evil spirit by offering their body as a sacrifice.

The technique would reincarnate the spirit into the caster, as such the original owner of the body would be replaced by the chosen spirit.

No one would dare commit the ultimate sacrifice unless they truly had nothing left in their life.

It was rarely used, not even once in the past few centuries until now..

”Just where did this human find this? ” Zeke wondered.

The technique was dangerous as it could bring back even the most powerful demon, so it was forbidden to use even in the demon empire, as such, the technique was forgotten long ago.

”Fuck this! At least, I can take revenge! You puny humans thought you could end the great Demon King? Hahahahah! ” Zeke Laughed.

”Wait.. this time period.. ”

However, when he fully grasps his situation, he was left disappointed. It had been hundreds of years since his death, there was a high chance that the humans that killed him were already gone.

”Hah… ” He sighed as he fully regained his composure.

He thought this was his chance to take revenge, but it had already been too long, he was a few centuries late.

”But what the ** is wrong this body? Its too weak! ” Zeke thought.

This body belonged to a son of one of the strongest family of mages in the kingdom, he can be this weak.. right? As of this moment, he even had trouble using the most basic magic spells.

”This guy.. his talent for magic is incredibly low. But what can I expect from a mere human… ”

Aside from his lousy talent, he found out that this guy, Arlo Blade had lived a terrible life. Arlo had always been overshadowed by his older brother and received little to no attention from his parents. He also had no friends and was constantly bullied in school because he was weak.

The absence of parents and the daily abuse he received from his peers was most likely the reason why he finally decided to put an end to his miserable life.

”This kid definitely lived a harsh one. But.. Thank you! Its thanks to you that I was given this second chance. This is probably the first time I thanked someone, so you should be honored, human! ”

”However, Im not that stingy. As payment, your foes are now also mine and I will give them what they deserve. Looks like Ill continue living this life of a human for some time.. ”

Zeke immediately got up from the floor and sat on his bed in a cross-legged position, he knew he had to get stronger.

”No good. The mana here is so sparse.. No wonder humans are so weak! Even the weakest lands of the demon domain had mana 10 times denser than this! ”

He closed his eyes and started concentrating on the mana in his surroundings. Although, he didn know what he was doing at first, he soon got the gist of it after he realized that gathering mana was not that different in a human body.

The only difference was that since human bodies can naturally store mana like dragons or demons who can naturally interact with mana from birth, they had to create an artificial storage for their mana, many referred to it as the mana pool which is typically positioned at the core of a humans body.

Thankfully, this body already had a mana pool. He was already a 1st step Mage. Zeke felt relieved as he knew nothing about creating a mana pool. He was a demon in the past and already had a storage for mana since birth.

Mana from his surroundings started moving towards him and soon enough, he was quickly absorbing mana.

In the past, Arlo Blade took a whole day to gather just a pinch of mana. On the other hand, Zeke took just a minute to gather a thousand times that amount.

Although this body had lousy talent and low sensitivity to mana, the experience and understanding Zeke had managed to overcome it.

After an hour, Zeke advanced from the 1st step to the 2nd step. He felt his mana pool got bigger; it was a sign that he had advanced to a 2nd step Mage!

He could speed up the process but due to this bodys weak physique, he could risk damaging his mana pool and not being able to use magic in this life.

A beam of light entered through the open window into the dark room where a boy was sitting. The sun had just risen from the horizon. It has been five days since Zeke started training. Feeling hungry, he finally decided to stop.

Zeke immediately opened his eyes from his long meditation and said with a smirk, ”6th step mage in 5 days.. Good enough for now. ”

If anyone heard what Zeke had just said, they would laugh at him and look at him like he was an idiot. Rising from the 1st step to the 6th step in 5 days? That was impossible.

It took years for even the most talented individuals to advance to a 6th step mage. In the kingdom, even a 5th step mage was considered a powerhouse, let alone a 6th step mage.

However, to Zeke, the level of strength he currently had was not even 1% of his former strength and was nothing to be proud of. One could never imagine how strong Zeke was in the past.

”[Flame Burst] ” He chanted an advanced spell in his mind.

The temperature in the room skyrocketed as a burst of flames immediately enveloped the room. If it were not for his insane mana control, the entire dormitory he was living in would be destroyed into nothingness.

”Still much weaker compared to my prime.. ” Zeke said with a look of disappointment before dispersing the spell.

Zeke stretched his stiff back, the long hours of meditating upright in a cross-legged position was intense.

He wiped the perspiration from his face and went to the bathroom to wash up.

When he was done, he picked up his uniform from floor and dressed himself.

”Well, at least you
e not looking too bad. ” Zeke said with a smile while looking at his reflection in the mirror; a boy with dark hair, a pair of blue eyes and a sharp jawline.

He had to admit, he had a pretty good face.

With the added muscle mass and height, he gained from advancing, he looked striking, devilishly handsome in fact.

After giving a final glance around his room, checking if he had forgotten anything, he made his way out of the room and closed the door.

While he was walking towards the main building, a few students glanced at him and was charmed by his aura.

He looked too different than the Arlo in the past. The once frail timid boy had transformed into someone full of confidence and vigor.

”Woah! I haven seen him before! Is he a new student? ”

”Tch! Humans! ” Zeke cursed inwardly, trying his best to hold his urge of killing.

[Great Winds Academy]

He looked at the large sign hanging from the entrance and took his first step into the building. But now, he was not walking in as Arlo Blade but as Zeke, the former Demon King.
