Chapter Eight

Lucas could already imagine the scene of his father forcing Kyle to call him and hand the phone over to him.

Lucas sighed. He knew that there was no way he could get out of this now. He had to see his father.

He wondered how his father was able to get a hold of the fact that he was here right now.

But he then remembered that his father has his own contacts. There was no way he would be able to hide it from his father if he really wants to know.

Even though his father no longer has anything to do with the company, he has been in the business scene for all of his life.

Finding out such a small information that other people could find out won pose much of a problem for the man.

”Dad ” Lucas called out when he saw that the yelling had stopped.

”Do you still think of me as your father? I really think that youve forgotten the fact that Im your father. Or else, you won be this way at all! ” Ethan, Lucass father yelled.

Lucas rolled his eyes.

He wasn in the mood to listen to the scoldings of an old man.

”Dad, what are you here for? If you found out that Im here then you should have found out that I don want to see anyone ” Lucas said.

”You….you….! ” Outside the door, Ethan was already clutching his chests because of the intense anger that he felt. He felt like he was going to pass out and suffer a stroke because of this son of his!

When he found him five years ago he was happy because that meant that he had someone of his own flesh and blood to pass his company to. But it wasn just because of that. He believed that he had found a puppet to control. A puppet who would do whatever he wants and not go against his wishes.

But he found out very soon that he was wrong. Lucas isn someone that could be controlled at all. In just a year, he was able to take over his company. In the next two years, he expanded the company so much that his company was brought to the top of the game.

He was happy that he had such a talented son, but it was too bad that this son would never listen to him. He hated being controlled the most.

When Ethan finally found his voice, he yelled, ”Im your father! Youve been away for more than a year! You come back and I can even see you?! Come open the door right now! We have something to talk about! ” Ethan said.

Lucas sighed. He knew that that old man was not going to stop causing a scene if he did not go out to meet him now.

Against his wishes, Lucas walked to the door and opened it.

Immediately he did, the first person that he saw was Kyle standing at an inconspicuous corner.

When thier eyes met, Kyle mouthed a sorry to him. Lucas waved his hand, indicating that he did not blame him at all. It wasn his fault. He knew that he won be able to fend off his father anyway.

Lucass eyes finally landed on his father. ”Dad. What are you doing here? ” Lucas asked.

”Move away! Let me in! We have serious matters to talk about! ” Ethan said. He did not give Lucas the chance to reject him. He immediately shoved his way into the villa.

Lucas sighed. He turned to Kyle. ”You can leave now. You don need to worry. Ill deal with him ” Lucas said.

Kyle smiled at him gratefully and walked away in relief. It was a good thing a thing that he did not have to be involved in the cross fire between father and son.

Ethan was upset when Lucas said that he was going to deal with him. It made him sound as if he was one of his clients.

But even though he was displeased, this wasn what he came here for. He had to try his best to his his displeasure.

Lucas finally shut the door and led his father to the couch.

”Alright. You said that you have something that you want to talk to me about. What do you want to talk to me about? Im here now ” Lucas said. It was clear that he was impatient. He wanted to get this done and over with as soon as possible.

”Lucas, its been more than a year. Aren you already tired of playing around, going back to that place? ” Ethan asked.

Lucas pursed his lips before he said,

”Frankly speaking, Ill never be tired of going back to that place ” That place has Alexa, he will never get tired of it.

Then Lucas continued,

”But I still came back here because I know that I have responsibilities that I can continue to run away from ”

”You Lucas…. ” Lucas interrupted Ethan.

”Dad…Im sure that you didn come here just to talk about the fact that Ive been gone for more than a year. You also aren here to welcome me and we both know that well. We are both busy people. Lets not waste each others time. What did you come here for? What do you want to see me about? ” Lucas asked.

Ethan knew that beating around the bush wasn going to walk. He knew that he had a super smart son. He won be fooled so easily.

He had to go straight to the point instead of beating around the bush.

”Alright fine. I heard that that woman, Alexa is getting married, you are going to give up on her right? ” Ethan asked.

Lucas sneered. Of course. He knew that this father was here because of this.

”Dad… Alexas marital status has nothing to do with you. What are you here for? ” Lucas repeated the question as bluntly as he could.

”Alright. Remember, my best friends daughter Darcy? I want you to get married to her! ” Ethan said.

”No, actually, I don remember her at all! ” Lucas said.
